Sony Pictures Releasing International launches Terminator Salvation in about 50 territories. The film has already grossed $8.9m through Sony overseas and $25.5m through all distributor and is released in North America through Warner Bros.
Highlights are expected to come from the UK, which opens two days earlier than usual on Wednesday (June 3), as well as France, Germany, Russia, Australia, Italy, Brazil, Switzerland, New Zealand, Holland, Sweden and Argentina. Angels & Demons heads into its fourth weekend on $252.7m and executives will look to the action film to take a big stride towards the $270m mark.
Night At The Museum 2 stands at $116.4m and opens in South Korea on June 6. Solid holdover business in the third weekend should see the tally rise towards the $140m, although it will be very difficult for the film to surpass the 2006 original’s $323.6m overseas haul.

The distributor announced final tallies for three films that will no longer be active. By the final reckoning Australia reached $158m, Brazilian smash Se Eu Fosse Voce 2 took $21.7m, and Valkyrie finished on $115.6m.
- PPI’s Star Trekhas amassed $105.1m and arrives in a further three territories including Hong Kong on June 4, India and Mexico on June 5. Comedy I Love You, Man on $10.7m debuts in three including Australia on June 4.
- Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International’s Pixar release Up ventures into its second weekend in Russia having already amassed $5.5m. The animated film will also touch down in Mexico and Colombia on June 5.
Hannah Montana The Movie has reached $36m and arrives in Germany on June 4, as well as Singapore and Malaysia.
- Universal/UPI’s thriller State Of Play has grossed $23.1m and opens this weekend in Singapore on June 4 followed by Mexico on June 5. Crime caper Duplicity stands at $33.9m and debuts in Brazil on June 5 and Taiwan a day later.
