Producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is leaving Range Media Partners to join Backrooms producer Oddfellows Pictures as partner and co-president alongside founder Chris Ferguson.
The longtime collaborators have produced 24 film and television projects together since 2013 including Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs, The Monkey, and the upcoming The Young People. Last month Ferguson signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros.
Kavanaugh-Jones served at Range Media Partners alongside Fred Berger, who will continue to lead film and production. Oddfellows and Range will continue to partner on projects.
“Since founding Oddfellows, Brian has been my closest producing partner,” said Ferguson, who said the producer ”brings phenomenal taste and talent relationships alongside a wide ranging entrepreneurial vision”.
Kavanaugh-Jones said, “Oddfellows has an artist-driven approach to production, which is essential to making great films.” He added, “My partnership with Fred Berger has meant the world to me. Over 10 years and 60 movies together, he’s been my rock personally and professionally.”
“Brian’s been more than a producing partner — he’s family,” said Berger. “I’m so proud of what we built together over the last decade from Automatik to Range, and am excited to keep working with him and Chris in this new chapter.”
