We’ll Find Happiness

EXCLUSIVE: Canadian industry veteran Anick Poirier is heading to the EFM in Berlin next month to kick off worldwide sales excluding Canada and Benelux on LGBTQ+ drama We’ll Find Happiness.

Léa Pool, whose credits include 2004 Mar del Plata best international film nominee The Blue Butterfly, directs the timely drama about two young persecuted men who risk everything for the right to love each other.

Mehdi Meskar and Aron Archer star in the French-language drama about Saad, a young Moroccan exile in Quebec, who will do anything to save Reza, his Iranian refugee lover who faces deportation and likely death.

In a desperate move, Saad tries to seduce a high-ranking spokesperson from the ministry of immigration in a risky gambit that sets off a fateful chain of events.

Production took place in Canada, Morocco and Luxembourg and Canada’s Lyla Films and Iris Productions from Luxembourg serve as co-producers. Les Films Opale and Entract Films will distribute in Canada, and Tarantula Distribution holds Benelux rights.

Poirier is the former head of sales at Montreal-based Seville International and co-founder of sales agency WaZabi Films.
