EXCLUSIVE: Cineverse has acquired North American rights for a trio of titles on the Blue Finch Films slate – Fantastic Fest premiere The Draft!, Sitges-selected A Mother’s Embrace and Beyond Fest title Above The Knee.
Indonesian filmmaker Yusron Fuadi’s The Draft! follows five college students who decide to spend their weekend away at a remote villa, and turns into the holiday from hell. Munandar Aji and Fani Pramuditya produce. Further sales include India (Book My Show), Latin America (Encripta), and France (Mediawan). Blue Finch will be releasing the film in UK-Ireland and Australia-New Zealand.
Cristian Ponce’s Brazilian horror A Mother’s Embrace is set amid an emergency call at a retirement home that is at risk of collapsing. Marjorie Estiano stars. The film has also sold to Poland (Media4Fun). Lupa Filmes produces.
Norwegian thriller Above The Knee follows a man harbouring a dark secret – ever since he can remember he has felt his left leg doesn’t belong to him. It is written and directed by Viljar Bøe. Further sales for this title include Scandinavia (Non-Stop Entertainment), Portugal (Vendetta), Latin American (Encripta), France & Spain (VOD Factory), and Poland (Velvet Spoon). Blue Finch will be releasing the film in UK-Ireland and Australia-New Zealand. Karl Oskar Åsli and Marie Waade Grønning produce.
