Spanish facility Coruña Immersive Studio (CEI) is expanding with the addition of two new soundstages of 2,500 sqm and 2,000 sqm, as part of a major audiovisual hub being created in Pedralong in Galicia.

The area is becoming one of the largest film and television production centres in Spain, totalling 5.500 sqm, including 1,500 sqm of offices, dressing rooms and technical areas.

CEI is supported by the Deputación da Coruña and the Spanish Government through the Next Generation EU Funds, and is managed by Pedralonga Estudios, a company set up in 2024 by CLAG (the Galician Audiovisual Cluster), the University of A Coruña and 10 leading Galician production companies. The latter include Portocabo, Zenit Televisión, Vaca Films and TEX45 Producciones.

The current infrastructure of the CEI spans more than 2,000 sqm, anchored by a 750 sqm virtual stage equipped with a 28 x 6m LED wall with 1.9 pixel pitch resolution.

“This main screen is supported by a comprehensive set of secondary screens, including a 100 sqm overhead one, along with cameras, lenses, tracking systems, rendering units and processors, as well as a full range of additional technical services required for our productions, such as post-production rooms, colour grading, Pro Tools and dressing rooms,” explained Fernanda Tabarés, president of Pedralonga Estudios, at the San Sebastian Film Festival this month.

Already fully operational since February, the CEI is located in the Cidade das TIC technology park, on the site of a former arms factory in A Coruña’s Avenida de Pedralonga.
