TIFF: The Market (September 10-16) has unveiled the official lineup of more than 70 sessions and events in its Summit, including new Visionaries speakers Danny Boyle and Seth Rogen, and Perspectives conversations around the Academy, and the state of the sales business.
Perspectives, supported by Screen International, will feature a conversation with the Academy on international features. This coincides with the first year in which the non-English-language winners of select festival awards including TIFF Platform will become eligible for the international feature film category, alongside official submissions.
The programme includes longtime collaborators Glen Basner of FilmNation and Roeg Sutherland of CAA Media Finance discussing the global sales playbook; filmmakers Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar and their Sing Sing star Colman Domingo talking about equity and parity in independent film; and discussions on French-language television co-productions, and the global rise of microdramas.
Dialogues speakers include Hirokazu Kore-eda discussing adaptation, and conversations around Indigenous actors, immersive media, and growing accessibility through inclusive stories.
“Our aim was to reflect the big questions and opportunities facing the industry,” said Charles Tremblay, head of TIFF: The Market. “Giving delegates the diverse perspectives they need to navigate the shifting global dynamics was also a key part of our strategy; we’re thrilled to see how well it’s all come together.”
