Leading Canadian film, TV and music company Entertainment One Ltd has announced interim results including a library valuation which increased 14% to over C$250m ($242m).

eOne’s library, valued at C$220m on March 31, 2009, includes more than 20,000 film and television titles, 2,400 hours of television programming and 45,000 music tracks.

The company’s results announcement, covering the six months to September 30, also said that eOne’s international distribution network has extended into Scandinavia and South Africa. The distribution footprint already covers Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Australia and New Zealand.

Overall, said the statement, “the group has experienced another period of strong growth with reported revenues in the first half of the year expected to increase by more than 20% (and 15% on a constant currency basis) driven by the continued expansion of the film and television businesses.”

The release said that eOne’s film business “has performed well, supported by more than 60 theatrical releases (51 in the first half of last year).” The statement singled out summer blockbuster The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which grossed almost £30m ($47m) at the UK box office and over C$27m ($26m) in Canada.
