AFM organiser IFTA has reported remarkable early interest and commitments” to the upcoming 2025 event (November 11-16) that marks a return to Los Angeles, with Studiocanal, AGC Studios, and Bankside Films among registrees.

IFTA (Independent Film & Television Alliance) said on Thursday that 160 production and sales companies are on board to attend at Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, alongside international organisations from more than 60 countries.

According to IFTA the ”early momentum signals a renewed sense of optimism and engagement across the independent film and television industry”.

Exhibitors for the 46th edition include WME Independent, Altitude, Upgrade, Highland Film Group, Architect, Beta Cinema, Cornerstone Films, Embankment Films, Film Mode, Neon, The Match Factory, Gaumont, HanWay Films, Pathé Films, Protagonist Pictures, TrustNordisk, Voltage Pictures, XYZ Films, and Goodfellas/Wild Bunch International.

National Umbrella Stands hosting sales and production companies will represent countries such as China, France, Germany, Italy, and Thailand organised by their national film promotion bodies.

AFM Screenings will take place at the AMC Century City 15 in the Westfield Century City shopping centre several minutes’ walk from Fairmont Century Plaza.

AFM’s LocationEXPO will expand to reflect increased demand from film commissions, production service companies, and attendees. The AFM Sessions conference series spanning four days will return, and speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The independent sector breathed a sigh of relief when IFTA announced the market was returning to Los Angeles after a difficult few years. The AFM relocated to Las Vegas in 2024 after years of complaints over costs and logistics in Santa Monica, however the event in Nevada was unpopular.
