House Productions’ co-founder and co-CEO Juliette Howell is exiting the BBC Studios-owned company to take up the role of CEO of another BBC Studios label, Lookout Point.
Lookout Point is the UK TV drama producer behind BBC series Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack and A Suitable Boy, and Netflix’s upcoming Pride And Prejudice adaptation.
Tessa Ross will continue as the sole CEO of House, and the company will continue to work on film as well as TV series.
However, Howell will take her own projects from the House slate and integrate them with Lookout. Louise Mutter will remain as managing director of Lookout Point, working alongside Howell’s leadership.
Screen understands House will be appointing an additional TV executive.
House’s slate covers film and TV, with Howell serving as the senior TV executive at the company, having previously held the position of Working Title TV head.
The company’s credits include features Conclave, Bird and The Iron Claw, as well as series Sherwood, Brexit: The Uncivil War, The Good Mothers, Life After Life and the forthcoming Mint, directed by Charlotte Regan.
Howell founded the company with former Film4 head Ross in 2016, with BBC Studios taking a 25% stake, before BBC Studios fully acquired the company in 2021.
