EXCLUSIVE: Experienced sales & acquisitions executives Tom Stewart and Dave Woodward are joining the senior team at UK distributor KFilm.
Stewart will join on September 1 as director of acquisitions, alongside current acquisitions lead Josh Thomashow. Together they will oversee KFilm’s slate, with Stewart focusing on UK, Europe and Asia and Thomashow managing acquisitions across North America, Latin America, and Australia-New Zealand.
Stewart and Thomashow will lead acquisitions at the upcoming Venice, Toronto and Telluride festivals.
Dave Woodward will join KFilm on September 15 in the newly-created role of head of theatrical sales. He will spearhead theatrical releases for Kaleidoscope Entertainment and Icon in the UK, having consulted for both companies since 2018.
Woodward will also manage theatrical sales across the KFilm Group’s broader slate, including KFilm releases and upcoming 4K Hammer Films restorations.
KFilm head of sales Daniel Cooper and CEO Spencer Pollard will be on-the-ground at Toronto, representing KFilm’s international sales company Kaleidoscope Film Distribution.
“[Stewart and Woodward] bring a huge amount of UK distribution experience and expertise with them, and it will help us continue to evolve and expand on our UK distribution and international sales reach,” said Pollard.
“Tom has always been somebody I admired over the years and became friends with whilst Dave has been working with us for a number of years as our independent theatrical booker — so adding him to the team to strengthen our theatrical reach full time was an easy decision to make.”
Stewart joins KFilm from Parkland Film Capital, where he was acquisitions and distribution director and had worked at the company since 2018. He has previously held roles at Arrow Films, Metrodome Distribution and FremantleMedia.
Woodward has worked in sales and acquisitions since the 1990s, at companies including Icon Film Distribution, Pathé and Thunderbird Releasing, and as an independent consultant.
