Filming is underway on Robert Eggers’s Werwulf in the UK for Focus Features and Universal.
Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Willem Dafoe star in the director’s latest gothic horror which is reportedly set in 13th-century England.
Production is based out of Sky Studios Elstree with location filming in Dartmoor, Devon.
Werwulf is produced by Eggers and Sjon, who co-wrote the screenplay together, for Focus Features. Working Title and Chris Columbus’s Maiden Voyage Pictures serve as executive producers.
The story centres around a mysterious creature who stalks a foggy countryside as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality for the villagers.
Focus Features is also financing and will release the title in North America on Christmas Day, 2026. Universal is handling international distribution.
Depp, Taylor-Johnson and Dafoe previously starred in Eggers’s Nosferatu which grossed over $180m at the global box office and was nominated for four Oscars.
