EXCLUSIVE: Little Walnut Productions run by Moby and Lindsay Hicks has announced that Erika Linder from Below Her Mouth and T’Nia Miller from The Haunting Of Bly Manor will star in the psychological folk horror Häxan. Production has begun in and around Stockholm, Sweden.
Hicks co-wrote the screenplay and Bafta-nominated Tina Gharavi directs the feature which explores fear, grief, misogyny, and confirmation bias through the unravelling of an intimate relationship.
The feature is led by a predominantly female creative team and inspired by the Swedish witch trials of the 17th century, blending psychological horror, relationship drama, and Scandinavian folk horror.
Hicks, Katherine Fisher, and Erin Stehler are producing for Little Walnut alongside Erin Scolaro for Production Coven. Moby serves as executive producer and will compose the score. Little Walnut is fully financing.
Hicks oversees Little Walnut’s development and production slate and her producing credits include recent Cannes selection Jim Queen, 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) premiere Eternal Return, and the documentaries Moby Doc and Punk Rock Vegan Movie.
Gharavi’s debut feature I Am Nasrine garnered her a Bafta nomination and she has since directed SXSW London and Munich selection Virginia Woolf’s Night And Day and the television series The Tunnel and Queen Cleopatra.
Linder was a model before she acted in her debut feature Below Her Mouth, which premiered in TIFF 2016. She has since appeared in the Portuguese series Lisboa Azul and most recently portrayed Virginia Woolf in Virginia Woolf’s Night And Day.
Miller’s roles for television include The Haunting Of Bly Manor, Sex Education, The Fall Of The House Of Usher, The Diplomat, and Doctor Who.
