Beta Cinema has revealed additional sales for Trudie Styler’s family comedy Up Against It, starring Antonio Banderas and Eva Birthistle, ahead of its world premiere at Toronto film festival this week.
The film has been acquired for Spain (Youplanet Pictures/Caramel), Greece (Spentzos Film), Turkey (Mars Production), Bulgaria (Beta Film) and Latin America (A2 Filmes).
Beta has also sold worldwide airline rights to Ricochet Digital Media.
Beta Cinema previously announced sales to select territories in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and Australia and New Zealand, with total sales now covering more than 50 territories.
Up Against It centres on Alvaro (Banderas) and his ex-wife Saffron (Birthistle). When their teenage daughter’s future suddenly hangs in the balance, the long-divorced couple must team up to have another baby. The cast also includes Forest Whitaker, Richard E Grant, Ursula Corbero, Arinze Kene and Eden Hamilton.
It is the second feature to be directed by Maven Screen Media co-founder Styler. Alongside Styler, it is produced by Celine Rattray of Maven Screen Media and Tempo Productions’ Piers Tempest.
CAA represents North American rights, while Beta Cinema handles international sales. The film has its world premiere as a gala presentation at Toronto on Thursday, September 17.
