Vanessa Kirby and Lewis Pullman will star in Kitty Green’s The Spacesuit, as the UK’s HanWay Films boards the film for sales ahead of Cannes.
UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance will represent North America.
The Spacesuit follows an astronaut, played by Kirby, who is forced to make an impossible decision after an incident with her co-pilot (Pullman) leaves an indelible stain on the mission in the days leading up to lift off, setting off a tense race against the clock.
The project reunites HanWay with Australian filmmaker Green, after partnering on The Royal Hotel. Shoot details have yet to be confirmed.
It is produced out of the US by James Schamus and Scott Macaulay, with whom Green worked on The Assistant and Casting JonBenet, alongside Joe Pirro, and Australia’s Rita Walsh and Kath Shelper. Kirby’s company Aluna is credited as an executive producer.
Gabrielle Stewart, CEO of HanWay Films, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Kitty Green again , whose genius is to take on utterly relatable situations women face, give them true cinematic canvases and imbue them with unbearable tension to provoke bigger conversations and entertain.”
