EXCLUSIVE: Vision Distribution has boarded international sales for the new film by Italian director Gianni Zanasi, Seven Makes Heaven (È Andata Cosi’).

The film stars Michele Riondino (The Count Of Monte Christo), Valerio Mastandrea (Perfect Strangers), Valentina Lodovini (When Mom Is Away) and Leonardo Lidi (Rose Island). It is written by Zanasi, whose films have played in Cannes’ Directors Fortnight and at Venice Film Festival, together with Michele Pellegrini and Giacomo Ciarrapico.

Seven Makes Heaven centres on Cecilia, played by Valentina Lodovini, a determined and passionate mother of two with three failed relationships behind her. When faced with a sudden crisis, she turns to her exes for help: Christophe (Valerio Mastandrea), her first great love and father of her oldest daughter, is a theatre director who lives in the memory of his glorious career. Guido (Leonardo Lidi), father of the second child, is a former promising manager who has decided to turn his life around by becoming a delivery rider. And finally Tony (Michele Riondino), a self-proclaimed music manager and the only one who actually married her, only to leave her for someone else.

This strange and dysfunctional “expanded” family finds itself living under the same roof, attempting an unlikely plan to save the situation, from which everyone tries to take their own advantage at the expense of others, despite the fact that they still love each other.

Filming will take place in Rome, Tuscania and the Tuscia region from June 23 to August 8.

Cinematography is by Vladan Radovic, the production designer is Tonino Zera, costume designer is Olivia Bellini, sound mixer is Fabio Conca, casting is Marco Matteo Donat-Cattin and Federica Baglioni. The executive producer is Massimo Monachini.

The film is a production by Pupkin Productions, Paco Cinematografica and Vision Distribution, with Neo Art Producciones S.L. as the Spanish co-producer and A.B. Film S.h.p.k. as the Albanian co-producer.

Both the Italian and international distribution will be handled by Vision Distribution.

Zanasi’s directorial debut Nella Mischia (1995) played in Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight. In 1999, he directed Fuori Di Me and Until Tomorrow, the latter competing at the Venice Film Festival.

In 2007, his bittersweet comedy Don’t Think About It, starring Valerio Mastandrea, played out of competition at Venice. In 2018 he returned to the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight with Lucia’s Grace, winning the Europa Cinemas Label. His latest film, War – The Desired War, was selected for the Rome Film Fest.
