Vue has appointed Narinder Shergill as general manager for UK & Ireland, to oversee all aspects of the group’s business in the territory.
Shergill is promoted from group finance director, having held several roles since joining European cinema chain Vue in 2016. She will start her new role on June 2, reporting to Matt Eyre, group chief operating officer.
Shergill has more than 25 years’ experience in UK business, working for companies including Coca-Cola, Selfridges and Virgin Media.
Her role comes as Vue continues to invest in its UK and European slate, including upgrades to Barco digital projectors and new concept such as its self-service foyer, named Vue Your Way; and Vue Ultra Lux seats.
“Narinder’s strong understanding of our business – its operations, people and broader industry context - will position her perfectly to lead the team as we maintain our leading market share, optimise investment in new innovations and ensure customer experience remains at the heart of everything we do,” said Eyre.
The Vue group runs cinemas across eight countries, with 223 sites and 1,959 screens.
