Producer-financier Roland Pellegrino has set up the Stuttgart-based production outfit PS-Filmproduction with writer-director Birgit Stein to produce her feature debut No Mercy.

The project will shoot at locations in North-Rhine Westphalia.

The satirical comedy, which sees a mother and her two daughters turning the tables on the world of men, stars Catrin Stribeck, Sylta Fee Wegmann and Sina Tkosch as the female vamps. A “who’s who” of German actors has been won to play their hapless victims, including Thomas Heinze, Rolf Zacher, Gedeon Burkhard, Christoph M. Ohrt and Martin Armknecht. Other roles have been taken by, among others, comedians Helge Schneider and Tom Gerhardt as well as director Stein’s real-life husband Jürgen Prochnow.

Pellegrino, who headed the private media fund CP Medien between 1994 and 2003 co-producing films as diverse as Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery, Enemy At The Gates and Till Eulensiegel, raised the finance for this latest project exclusively from private investors and deferrals without any recourse to public film funds.
