The Australian actor will play oppoiste Julia Dietze and Gotz Otto in the 6.5m euros Finnish-German-Australian co-production.

The Matrix Reloaded actor Christopher Kirby has joined the cast of the 6.5m euros science fiction black comedy Iron Sky.

Kirby will play an African American astronaut who comes across two Nazis, to be played by Julia Dietze and Gotz Otto, who return in the year 2018 to reclaim the earth having decamped to the moon after the war.

Timo Vuorensola is directing the Finnish-German-Australian co-production, which is partly funded by online fans and will shoot in Finland.

The screenplay has been written by Johanna Sinisalo and Michael Kalesniko.

Tero Kaukomaa is producing for his Helsinki based company Blind Spot Pictures along with Oliver  Damian for German outfit 27 Films and Cathy and Mark Overett for Australian production outfit New Holland Pictures.

World sales are being handled by Stealth Media Group, who will deliver the film in December 2011.
