Burr Steers’ Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

A zombie twist on the classic tale by Jane Austen, this comedy/horror film will star Lily James (Cinderella), Sam Riley, and Jack Huston.

Cross Creek’s Brian Oliver produces with Allison Shearmur, Sean McKittrick, Natalie Portman, Annette Savitch, Tyler Thompson and Marc Butan alongside Head Gear Films.

Sierra/Affinity holds international sales rights, and Screen Gems will release February 19, 2016.

Mattie Do’s Dearest Sister

This Lao-European horror feature is set for a late spring shoot.

Do’s film will star radio celebrity Vilouna Phetmany, Estonian Tambet Tuisk, and newcomer Amphaiphun Phommapanya.

Raven banner has picked up world sales rights. Producers are Lao Art Media, Annick Mahnert of Screen Division and Sten Saluveer and Helen Lõhmus of Oree Films who are eyeing a 2016 release.

Pedro Almodovar’s Silence

Principal photography will soon begin on the Spanish drama starring Adriana Ugarte (TV series The Time In Between), Daniel Grao (Talk To Her), and Rossy de Palma (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown).

The film centres on Julieta, whose life in 2015 finds her on the verge of madness but is shown 30 years earlier during the 1980s at a more prosperous time in her life.

Produced by El Deseo, the film shoots in Spain beginning in May and will first be released on March 18, 2016.
