Andre Øvredal of Trollhunter fame will make his English-language directorial debut on the supernatural thriller starring Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox.

IM Global’s Octane genre division will fully finance The Autopsy Of Jane Doe, set to kick off production on March 30 in London.

The project is based on Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing’s 2013 Black List screenplay about father and son coroners who receive a mysterious corpse containing terrifying secrets.

Fred Berger and Eric Garcia will produce through their Impostor Pictures label alongside Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh of 42.

Ford, Matt Jackson and Ben Shields Catlin of IM Global are on board as executive producers.

“Brian and Emile are remarkably dynamic actors and will make a formidable pair,” said Øvredal. “I feel so fortunate to be bringing this story to life with such brilliant performers.”

Deborah Zipser brokered the deal on behalf of IM Global, with Nick Miller of Aslan Charles Kousetta Law in the UK, UTA and Sloane, Weber, Offer, and Dern for Hirsch and David Lillard of Paradigm for Cox.

Octane is in post-production on Incarnate and Viral, the pair of self-financed genre titles co-produced with Blumhouse. Universal will distribute the supernatural thriller Incarnate starring Aaron Eckhart in the US, while Dimension Films handles duties on the thriller Viral.
