UK director Matt Taabu, whose short film Threads won the best film award at the Rob Knox Film Festival in London this weekend, is developing his first feature, King Of Flies (working title).

Taabu received development funding from the UKFC and Screen Yorkshire for the dysfunctional family drama about a mixed race kid who is trying to find his parents.

Sheffield based Rob Speranza is producing for the South Yorkshire Film-Makers Network together with Alex Usborne for Picture Palace North.

The feature will be an extension of the short film Threads.

Meanwhile Speranza is in post production on another feature, Entity, a horror film directed by Steve Stone starring Charlotte Riley and Dervla Kirwan.
