Pathe International will handle worldwide sales on the Italian-French co-production which is Sorrentino’s first film set and entirely filmed in Rome. 

Shooting is due to begin in August on Paolo Sorrentino’s latest project The Great Beauty (La Grande Bellezza).

Based on a story by Sorrentino, the director has also written the script with Umberto Contarello. The cast includes Toni Servillo, Carlo Verdone and Sabrina Ferilli.

Other crew members will include cinematographer  Luca Bigazzi, art director Stefania Cella, costume designer Daniela Ciancio and Cristiano Travaglioli as editor.

The Great Beauty is an Italian-French coproduction between Indigo Film and Medusa Film for Italy, Babe Films and Pathé for France.  

Pathé International is acting as sales agent throughout the world.

The film is being backed by the Regional Fund for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Lazio Region.
