Pathé UK to team up with Matt Wilkinson’s production company; Bradley Quirk appointed as creative executive.

Pathé UK has entered into a first-look deal with Matt Wilkinson’s production company Stigma Films.

The focus will be on production of “high concept genre fare for an international audience.”

Wilkinson recently left Working Title Films where he worked as a development executive, tracking new talent.

The first look deal with Wilkinson will run alongside Pathé UK’s existing producer deal with Christian Colson’s Cloud Eight Films, with whom it co-financed Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours and current production Trance.

Pathé UK has also announced the appointment of Bradley Quirk as creative executive. Quirk has held the post of story editor and talent tracker at the UKFC/BFI for the last three years. He will take up the role in the new year, reporting to Colleen Woodcock, Pathé’s head of creative affairs.

Cameron McCracken, managing director of Pathé UK, said: “We’re delighted to welcome both Matt and Bradley to the team with a view to increasing our level of production. Talented and smart, they offer an injection of new blood and a very different perspective. Through them we hope to reach a wider range of filmmakers and forge a new relationship with a younger audience.”
