Guzman makes his acting debut while news about McCormick, a discovery from the TV show So You Think You Can Dance, broke several weeks ago when producer Adam Shankman announced it on Twitter. Summit will release domestically and handles international sales.

Scott Speer is directing the 3D project, slated to commence production later this summer. Jenny Mayer wrote the Miami-set latest episode in the popular series, which has grossed more than $430m worldwide.

Jennifer Gibgot and Shankman are producing through their Offspring Entertainment label alongside Summit Entertainment’s Patrick Wachsberger and Erik Feig. 

Step Up 2: The Streets and Step Up 3-D director Jon M Chu serves as executive producer with Offspring’s Matt Smith. 

Summit president of production Feig will oversee for Summit with svp of production Meredith Milton and creative executive Jeyun Choi.
