Warner Bros continues to grow its local language production business with a deal to co-produce and distribute two films in Poland between now and 2011.
Warner Bros Entertainment Polska, Andrzej Saramonowicz and his production company San Graal have greenlit the first of the two films, How To Get Rid Of Cellulite.
The comedy will open on February 4 2011 and centres on a trio of women who embark on a series of crazy adventures. Dominika Kluzniak, Maja Hirsch and Magdalena Boczarska star.
Saramonowicz wrote the script and previously directed the Polish box office hit Lejdis. Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer.
“This partnership with Andrzej Saramonowicz is an important part of Warner Bros’ local language production strategy in Poland, reflecting our shared ambition to create and distribute films across Poland that combine strong artistic value, critical recognition and commercial success,” Warner Bros International executive vice-president said Richard J Fox said.
“I love to make movies about women and for women because it’s a really fantastic subject and always a very appreciative audience,” Saramonowicz said. “The characters in How To Get Rid Of Cellulite… are full of unrestrained fantasy, endearing charm, very intelligent and clever, so it’s difficult not to fall in love with them.”
