Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth has been confirmed for a world premiere at the secondRome Film Festival, which runs Oct 18-27.

'It is both an honor and a great pleasure to debut Youth Without Youth at the Rome Film Festival. I have worked in Italy extensively, both in Sicily and in Rome, at Cinecitta,' said Coppola. 'This film represents a new period in my career, where I intend to make only personal films. I look forward to showing it at this new festival in Italy, whose great masters such as Rossellini, Fellini, Visconti, Passolini and Antonioni inspired my early career.'

Working independently from the studios, Coppola wrote, directed, and producedYouth Without Youth, adapting the screenplay from a novella by Romanian author Mircea Eliade.

Tim Roth stars as an elderly professor whose apparent immortality makes him a target for the Nazis. The cast also features Alexandra Maria Lara, Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Pirici, Marcel Iures and Andre Hennicke.

Coppola worked on the project for a year and a half in Romania.

Anahid Nazarian and Fred Roos served as executive producers. The film was a co-production of SRG Atelier, Pricel, and BIM Distribuzione, and is presented by American Zoe trope. Pathe Pictures International will handle international sales.

BIM will release in Italy, while Sony Pictures Classics will release in the US and Canada in early December.
