Ridley Scott’s production companies boosts development team.

Jack Arbuthnott and Surian Fletcher-Jones have been appointed as development executives at Scott Free UK, the European arm of Ridley Scott’s production company.

Arbuthnott joins the company from BBC Films, where he is a development editor. His credits include West Is West, which is currently shooting and the upcoming StreetDance 3D.

He previously worked at the UK Film Council as a development executive, and before that he held roles at New Line and Mission Pictures. 

Fletcher-Jones comes from BBC Drama, where her credits include Emmy award winning Little Dorrit and Sense And Sensibility . She will work primarily on developing projects for television.

Liza Marshall, who was appointed as head of film and TV in November 2009, said: “Jack and Surian are ambitious, talented executives who are very popular with writers. Between them, they have great deal of experience of the industry and represent the dynamic and fresh approach we are looking to take with our production and development activity in the UK across feature filmmaking and television drama.”

Scott Free’s current slate of films includes Tony Scott’s Unstoppable for Twentieth Century Fox, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood for Universal and Joe Carnahan’s The A Team.
