A video announcing the inaugural Doha Film Festival (DFF) has been unveiled by The Doha Film Institute.
DFF will run from November 20-28 this year, with over $300,000 of prize money on offer across four competition strands.
These are: International Feature Film Competition, showcasing new works by emerging and established filmmakers from around the world; International Shot Film Competition; Ajyal Film Competition, judged by the festival’s youth jury; and the Made in Qatar Competition, for filmmakers based in Qatar.
DFF will take place at locations across Doha including Katara Cultural Village for red carpet events and premieres; Msheireb Downton for industry sessions and special events; and the Museum of Islamic Art for short film screenings.
“Doha Film Festival is not only a celebration of cinema, but a platform for purpose-driven storytelling amplifying important voices that are redefining the global film landscape with depth, nuance, and truth,” said Fatma Hassan Alremaihi, DFI CEO.
