Arts Alliance Media will broadcast Kaleidoscope Entertainment’s UK premiere screening of Ride Rise Roar live via satellite to 50 UK screens on Jan 20, 2011.
The screening will be followed by a live broadcast of a Q and A with Talking Heads band member David Byrne, which will take place at the Ritzy Brixton cinema.
Hillman Curtis’ feature, which first screened at South by Southwest in March, combines onstage performances with insight into the band’s backstage life.
Kaleidoscope Entertainment’s CEO, Spencer Pollard said: “We are delighted to be hosting this exciting event, where fans will have a one-off opportunity to experience the intimacy and creative genius of a David Byrne gig on the big screen, alongside the man himself.”
Arts Alliance Media’s VP alternative content distribution, Elizabeth Draper said: “This is a very exciting opportunity to take an exclusive Live Q&A with a special musician like David Byrne and share this with as wide an audience as possible across the entire UK and Eire. It’s the great benefit of digital cinema, and satellite technology, that allows audiences to experience unique events like this as if they were there.”
