Finland’s Antti Haikala directs the 3D animated feature.

As 3D animation continues to excite buyers, Belgian production house Skyline is closing in on a deal with TF1 for the French major to handle the worldwide distribution (excluding Benelux and the Nordic Countries) of Santa’s Magic Crystal.

The 3D animated feature, directed by Antti Haikala (Finland) tells the story of the magic crystal that makes it possible for Santa to multiply his efforts to distribute presents to children. Santa’s evil twin brother Basil has a diabolic plan. He will steal the crystal and gain control over children’s minds.

The film is due to be presented at Cartoon Movie, the co-production platform for European animated features that takes place in Lyon (March 2-4).

Another Skyline feature cartoon, Luke & Lucy and the Texas Rangers, is being handled at the EFM by distributor Delphis Films, who has already secured deals in some 35 countries including the US (Phase 4).
