Writer/director Mark Tonderai started shooting his debut feature film Hush on Aug 20 for Warp X, Shona Productions and FearFactory.

The suspense thriller will shoot on location in Sheffield and the East Midlands over five weeks.

Will Ash and Christine Bottomley star in the story of a couple who barely avoid a roadside accident only to be drawn into a dangerous cat-and-mouse game.

Hush is produced by zoe Stewart with Mark Herbert and Robin Gutch. Colin Pons of FearFactory is co-producing.

The film is the third project to shoot from Warp X's production slate, after Olly Blackburn's Donkey Punch and Chris Waitt's Complete History.

Low-budget digital scheme Warp X is backed by Film 4, the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund, EM Media, Screen Yorkshire and Optimum Releasing. FearFacotry is the first outside investor to back a film as part of the scheme.

Sales for Hush will be handled by Pathe International, with Optimum taking UK theatrical rights and Channel 4 taking UK TV rights.

Tonderai is a radio and TV veteran who previously wrote and starred in debut feature Dog Eat Dog for Film4. He is also attached to direct Shona's vampire film Blood Rush.

Meanwhile, Stewart is set to produce Gaby Dellal's next film Powermike with Mia Bays.
