UK Trade & Investment is working on several events during the 2014 Berlinale.

Tonight UKTI is partnering with the British Embassy, BFI and British Council (alongside law firm Brehm & v. Moers) to host a panel discussion about German-UK co-production at 1700, with speakers including Isabel Davis from the BFI, Lee & Thompson’s Reno Antoniades and producer Jens Meurer from Egoli/Tossel. The panel is followed by a UK film reception.

On Saturday, UKTI is partnering on the We Are UK Film EFM reception and whisky tasting, followed by a reception with Screen International at the Hotel de Rome.

This year’s Berlinale features 29 films that are UK productions or have UK involvement.

“The Berlin Film Festival is one of the most important international film industry events and the European Film Market in particular is second to Cannes only for the British film industry. While the key priority markets for UK films are the US, Brazil and China, Germany is the most reliable market in terms of advances being paid and number of UK films released,” said Daniel Rutstein [pictured], Head of UKTI Germany.

UK Trade & Investment is a government department helping UK-based companies compete globally, and helping overseas companies bring investment to Britain.
