Brandon Cole Joins Vermont Film Faculty

Top brass at the Vermont College Of Fine Arts announced Wednesday [10] the appointment of screenwriter and playwright Brandon Cole to the faculty of the school’s brand new film MFA [master of fine arts] programme.

Cole’s credits include writing the 1992 film Mac with John Turturro, who also starred in the film, and he co-wrote Pete Smalls Is Dead starring Peter Dinklage, Steve Buscemi and Tim Roth.

“We’re pleased to have a screenwriter of Cole’s caliber joining our film faculty,” said VCFA founding president Thomas Christopher Greene.

“This film school is already attracting top talent from around the world. It is our hope that independent film-makers will find an exciting new trajectory for their work by refining their craft, exploring new approaches, and building a lifelong network of professional relationships while here in Montpelier.”

Cole also wrote the play Nothing Works, which was performed at the Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon, Portugal, and was subsequently produced for Portuguese and Brazilian television.

The VCFA will welcome the inaugural class to its Montpelier, Vermont, campus during October this year.
