Third annual festival takes place in five UK cities
The third annual British Independent Film Festival (May 11-12) will open this year with the world premiere of Dominic Burns’ horror Airborne, starring Mark Hamill.
Hosted by the Film Festival Guild, the British Independent Film Festival takes place in five cities across the UK.
Bindu De Stoppani’s Jump and Rikki Beadle Blair’s Bashment will screen as world premieres, alongside Rob Heydon’s Ecstasy and Giles Borg’s Flutter.
The sales, financing and production outfit will be introducing the projects to buyers at Cannes.
The charity is calling for urgent public and private funding boost ahead of the impending general election.
The crime thriller is produced by Amblin Entertainment and will shoot this summer.
Participants come Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Peru and Saint Lucia.
Screen profiles the Piazza Grande and International Competition titles selected for Locarno’s 75th edition, which runs August 3-13.
