EXCLUSIVE: Australian outfit pre-buys Jim Mickle’s revenge-thriller.

Umbrella has pre-bought Jim Mickle’s revenge-thriller Cold In July from Memento for Australia.

The deal was negotiated by Jeff Harrison and Martina Ternstrom for Umbrella and Tanja Meissner for Memento.

Backup Media is teaming with Memento to finance Cold In July, Nick Damici and Mickle’s an adaptation of Joe Lansdale’s cult novel about two fathers pitted against each other who must band together to uncover a darker truth.

Shoot is due to get underway in late July on the film which is proving a hot script at the market. Belladonna Productions produces.

Mickle’s We Are What We Are is playing in Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes 2013.
