TrustNordisk has closed a raft of sales on Lukas Moodysson’s We Are The Best!.
A short promo was presented to buyers on Saturday at the Marché du Film. TrustNordisk has now closed a number of deals on the film.
UK distributor Metrodome has picked up the rights in Cannes. The deal negotiated between Giles Edwards, head of acquisitions and Jezz Vernon, managing director at Metrodome and Susan Wendt, head of sales at TrustNordisk.
Metrodome has distributed a number of Lukas Moodysson’s previous films including Lilya 4-Ever and Together.
TrustNordisk has also sold We Are The Best! to Benelux (Wild Bunch), Switzerland (Frenetic Films) and Former Yugoslavia (Continental Film) with a number of territories currently in negotiation.

Written and directed by Lukas Moodysson and based on a graphic novel by Coco Moodysson, We Are The Best! is a playful yarn about three young outsiders in 80’s Stockholm. It is produced by Lars Jönsson for Memfis Film, co-produced by Film I Väst, SVT and Zentropa in co-operation with Denmarks Radio and with support from the Swedish Film Institute, The Danish Film Institute and Nordisk Film and TV Fund.
Domestic release is set for October 2013.
