The world premiere of Kaye’s Detachment and a work-in-progress screening of Stephen C Mitchell’s Talihina Sky: The Story Of Kings Of Leon join the line-up.

Detachment stars Adrien Brody, Christina Hendricks, Lucy Liu, James Caan, Marcia Gay Harden, Blythe Danner, Tim Blake Nelson, William Petersen and Bryan Cranston and chronicles the lives of several high school teachers, administrators and students. It screens in Spotlight.

Talihina Sky meanwhile is a special screening that offers a behind-the-scenes look at rockers Kings Of Leon and their rise from Pentecostal Southern roots to stadium stalwarts.

“We’re thrilled that we were able to include both of these films in the lineup,” director of programming David Kwok said. “Both complement the programme well. Talihina Sky caps off a strong year of music films, and Detachment adds to the distinct dramas that we’re presenting, and it’s great that it’s set in New York and made here.”

The festival runs in lower Manhattan from Apr 20-May 1.
