Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Entertainment have acquired US rights to David M. Rosenthal’s A Single Shot

The thriller, starring Sam Rockwell, will receive a VoD release on August 20 ahead of its theatrical release on September 20.

The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and screened at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Based on the book by US writer Matthew F. Jones, who has also adapted the screenplay, it tells the story a poacher (Rockwell) who makes a fatal mistake that leaves him with a suitcase full of blood money and hardened killers on his trail.

The deal was negotiated for Tribeca Film by director of acquisitions Nick Savva; for Well Go USA by president Doris Pfardrescher; and on behalf of the filmmakers by UTA and Keith Kjarval of Unified Pictures.

Kjarval also produced the project, alongside Aaron L. Gilbert of Bron Studios and Media House Capital and Chris Coen of Unanimous Entertainment.
