Netflix and Metro Goldyn Mayer Studios (MGM) have signed a new multi-year licensing agreement to make Netflix the exclusive subscription servive in the UK and Ireland. As previously reported, Netflix will launch in the UK in early 2012.

The deal will cover most first-run feature films from MGM.It will offer films in the Pay TV window to Netflix subscribers on TVs, tablets, game consoles, computers and mobiel phones.

Films on offer within one year of theatrical relase will include The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, Zookeeper, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and 21 Jump Street.

Catalogue titles will include Capote, The Usual Suspects, The Amityville Horror and West Side Story.
