The Beverly Hills-based production, financing and sales company’s Compound B label will begin sales in Cannes following a deal with producers Jonathan Craven and Cody Zwieg.

Charm is described as a darkly comic film in the vein of American Psycho and A Clockwork Orange that marks the feature debut of writer-director Ashley Cahill.

The filmmaker stars as a New Yorker who embarks on a crime spree to protest the increasingly antiseptic nature of his beloved city. The only problem is, nobody takes notice of his acts.

Rebecca Dayan, James DeBello and newcomer Jennifer Murray star and there are cameos from Jake Hoffman and Kirsten Dunst.

Compound B vp of acquisitions and development Nick Donnermeyer negotiated the deal for Charm on behalf of Bleiberg Entertainment with Craven and Zwieg.

“The film is immediately and continuously engaging,” Donnermeyer said. “Ashley brings so much energy to the screen as both an actor and director, balancing the terror with his pitch-black humour. It’s a pleasure to see such a fully-realised and well-executed film.”

Compound B is preparing to start production on its Dolph Lundgren action project Battle Of The Damned in June in Malaysia and Singapore.
