Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International has another busy weekend to look forward to with Up scheduled to touch down in Italy, Sweden and several smaller markets.
The Pixar release has amassed more than $258m and still has lots of life left in the UK as it enters the second weekend ahead of the Japanese launch on December 5.
Family title G-Force has grossed more than $112m and opens this weekend in France and German-speaking Europe. Romantic comedy hit The Proposal is nearing $150m and opens in Japan.
Sony Pictures Releasing International’s romantic comedy The Ugly Truth on $81.7m opens in Spain and Hong Kong, while Julie & Julia on $12.4m arrives in Russia and Taiwan.
District 9 has grossed $69.6m industry-wide and has a potentially big weekend in store with debuts scheduled in South Korea, Mexico and Brazil. The Damned United opens in Australia, New Zealand and Sweden.
Universal/UPI’s comedy Couples Retreat has taken an early $3.9m and opens in the UK and Russia this weekend.
Fox International’s local language title Arrancame La Vida launches in Brazil on October 16.
As of October 13 Family title Aliens In The Attic has reached $14.1m, 500 Days Of Summer $14.1m, Jennifer’s Body $3.9m, X-Men Origins: Wolverine $193.2m, and Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs $682.2m.
The Final Destination has grossed $97.3m through Warner Bros Pictures International (WBPI) and New Line International’s network and opens through the latter in Japan and Australia. The Hangover stands at $186.7m through WBPI.
