Elena travels for Pyramide
Company also handles Manoel De Oliveria’s Gebo.
French sales outfit Pyramide has confirmed sales on Russian drama Elena to New Wave (for the UK) and to Smile Entertainment (for Denmark/Finland.)
Pyramide recently boarded Infancia clandestina by Benjamin Avila. The French company bought the film for distribution in France and is also handling International rights. Wanda Films has taken for Spain and Imovision for Brazil. The film is produced by Luis Puenzo’s Historias Cinematograficas.
Here at the EFM, Pyramide is handling sales on Gebo and the Shadow, the latest film from 103-year-old Portuguese auteur Manoel De Oliveira. Based on a play by Raul Brandão, the film tells the story of a loving father putting himself at risk to protect his runaway son. The cast is led by Michael Lonsdale, Claudia Cardinale, Ricardo Trêpa and Jeanne Moreau. The project has been put together as a French-Portuguese coproduction between partners Mact productions and O Som e a Furia. It will be released in France by Epicentre Films.
Meanwhile, following eight years spent at Pyramide International, head of sales Yoann Ubermulhin is to leave the company after Berlin to take up a new job at French Sofica film tax vehicle Indéfilms, as its administrator. Indéfilms will finance qualifying French or European films.
Lucero Garzon will be Pyramide’s new head of sales.
