Myriad Pictures holds international rights and commences talks with buyers this week on the rom-com to be directed by Jon Poll, who previously directed Charlie Bartlett and produced Dinner For Schmucks.

Katie Holmes portrays a medical student who falls for a younger man played by Chace Crawford whom she realises she used to babysit 15 years ago. CAA holds domestic rights.

First-timer Alex Schemmer wrote the screenplay. Principal photography is set to begin in Los Angeles in autumn. Schemmer’s fellow Harvard alumnus Michael Roiff from Night & Day Pictures is producing and previously collaborated with Myriad on Serious Moonlight. Julie Yorn is also producing.

“We look forward to working with Michael Roiff again and with Julie Yorn,” Myriad chief Kirk D’Amico said. “The script is very funny, Katie Holmes and Chace Crawford are appealing actors around the world and Jon Poll is a terrific filmmaker. We are really pleased to help bring Responsible Adults to the big screen.”

Myriad’s slate includes the thriller Inescapable with Alexander Siddig, financial crisis drama Margin Call starring Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany and Zach Quinto and crime thriller Edwin Boyd with Scott Speedman.
