UK indie to distribute Mira Nair’s LFF title [pictured] and both parts of Anurag Kashyap’s gangster epic following negotiations initiated at this year’s Cannes.
Independent UK theatrical distributor Mara Pictures have acquired Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseyur Part 1 & 2.
The deals follow the strategic partnership formed with film company Footprint and negotiations initiated at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Nair’s adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s critically acclaimed novel screens next week at the BFI London Film Festival and is slated for a spring/summer 2013 release, while Kashyap’s gangster epic will be released in winter 2012-13.
