EXCLUSIVE: Clive Owen is confirmed and Cannes competition juror Uma Thurman is in talks to star in the romance Blind, which Mark Damon’s Foresight Unlimited is selling here.

Damon is producing alongside Michael Mailer and Diane Fisher the story of a novelist who was blinded in a car crash that killed his wife and several years later rediscovers his passion for life and writing when he embarks on an affair with the neglected wife of an indicted businessman.

John Buffalo Mailer, who like his half-brother Michael is the son of Norman Mailer, wrote the screenplay and Damon has reported strong interest from buyers here. He holds worldwide rights.

Meanwhile Damon’s Sundance premiere The Ledge, which was picked up in Park City by IFC Films, this week became the first film to premiere on the new app and digital distribution service SundanceNOW. Charlie Hunnam stars alongside Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson and Terrence Howard and Christopher Gorham directed.

The film is available for $12.99 as a sneak preview ahead of the VoD launch on May 25 and theatrical premiere on Jul 8. It also marks the first time IFC Films has launched a film online.

“These days there are many new and innovative ways to distribute a film, and new techniques are constantly evolving,” Damon said. “IFC is at the forefront of cutting edge independent distribution, and we love that they are trying something new with The Ledge.”
