Global network to launch stand-alone VoD channel on the New York-based platform.

The Eye On Films (EoF) global network will launch its own stand-alone VoD channel on New York-based platform Cinecliq “ïn the next couple of months,” the initiative’s president Loic Magneron revealed in Berlin on Tuesday morning.

The American transactional platform, which is integrated with many social media sites, had already been a partner with EoF since 2012 on its I Love Mondays initiative which organises a free sneak preview on the first Monday evening of each month before the VoD launch of the film in France, Canada, the UK and the US.

The other partners in I Love Mondays are Dailymotion, LoveMyVOD and Realeyz.tv, and the first season in 2013 attracted more than 200,000 views in France alone.

Magneron also reported that the Berlin-based Realeyz is planning an additional collaboration with EoF where it would offer a selection of more than 60 films from Wide’s catalogue in simultaneous releases on VoD and into cinemas.

Moreover, a cooperation is in the works with cinemas in the France’s CGR chain to organise special presentations of EoF titles similar to those staged at the Showroom and Workstation in Sheffield and at Cambridge’s Broadway Cinema.

Looking back at the first three years of EoF’s operations, Magneron noted that more than 50 first films had been selected for distribution by the network’s festival, distributor or VoD platform partners.

EoF titles showing at this year’s Berlinale include the Generation title Supernova by Tamar van den Dop, Peter Krüger’s creative documentary N - The Madness Of Reason, showing in the Forum, as well as such market titles as Ivan Ikic’s teenage drama Barbarians and Sascha Seifert’s documentary Slow.

In addition, Magneron revealed that more than 30 of the EoF titles from 2011-2013 have been sold to distributors in over 150 deals in 35 countries, with 40 of these deals being concluded with EoF partners.
