IM Global’s Anthem division will handle international sales, excluding China, on all Huayi’s upcoming Chinese-language productions.

Huayi Bros has confirmed its output deal with IM Global, which is presenting an initial slate in Cannes that includes the kidnap drama Abducted starring starring Andy Lau [pictured] and Jing Boran.

IM Global’s Anthem division will handle international sales excluding China on all Huayi’s upcoming Chinese-language productions.

The roster includes rom-com Women Who Flirt starring Huang Xiaoming and Zhou Xun; Love On The Cloud starring Angelababy and Chen He; and true story A Tale Of Three Cities, based on the life of Jackie Chan’s parents and starring Tang Wei and Sean Ching-Wan Lau.

“Since we opened our Beijing office last year, gaining a high profile foothold in the international sales of major Chinese films has been a priority for us and we couldn’t wish for a more dynamic or prestigious partner than Huayi Brothers,” said IM Global founder and CEO Stuart Ford.

“With the rapid growth of the Chinese film industry, finding the right partner was a high priority for us to expand beyond our domestic market,” said Huayi Brothers president James Wang. “IM Global’s expertise and international reach will be essential to fully exploit the global market.”

IM Global has also launched pre-sales here on Jackie Chan starrer Civilian and Lu Yang’s Chinese language Brotherhood Of Blades starring Chang Chen, Liu Shishi, Nie Yuan, Wang Qianyuan and Li Dongxue.
