EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate International will commence pre-sales at the EFM on Black Label Media, Imagine Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment’s Lost Boys Of Sudan drama The Good Lie starring Reese Witherspoon.

The Oscar-wining actress will play a brash employment agent who helps a trio of Sudanese refugees settle into the MidWest and ultimately reunites them with their sister.

Ron Howard, who is due to fly into Berlin this weekend for a private buyer screening of Rush, will produce with Brian Grazer, Molly Smith and Karen Kahela Sherwood. Kim Roth and Deepak Nayar serve as executive producers.

Philippe Falardeau, whose Monsieur Lazhar earned a best foreign language Oscar nomination last year, will direct from a screenplay by Boardwalk Empire writer Margaret Nagle.

The story is based on true circumstances surrounding the so-called Lost Boys Of Sudan – four people who fled a brutal attack on their war-torn Sudanese village and trekked 1,000 miles to a UN refugee camp in Kenya.

Ten years later the quartet were relocated to the US, where one man was separated from his sister and sent with two friends to a different region.

The project is in pre-production and will combine drama with comedic tone as the refugees adjust to life in the US.
