Ray Cooney’s film adaptation of his own stage play will include cameos from Cliff Richard, Rolf Harris, Ray Winstone and Prunella Scales.

Danny Dyer, Neil Morrissey, Denise van Outen and Sarah Harding are amongst the British stars who have signed up to star in Ray Cooney’s Run For Your Wife, an adaptation of his stage play of the same name.

The cast is made up of over 80 British actors including Christopher Biggins, Lionel Blair, Noclas Le Provost and Ben Cartwright, with cameos from Cliff Richard, Rolf Harris, Richard Briers, Maureen Lipman, Ray Winstone, June Whitfield and Prunella Scales. No fees will be paid for the cameos, with charitable donations being made to the actors’ favourite theatrical charities instead.

Cooney has written the script, which centres around a South London taxi driver (played by Danny Dyer) whose bigamy finally catches up with him over a hectic 24 hour period as he tries to dodge the police and stop his two wives meeting.

It is based on Cooney’s successful play which ran in London’s West End for eight years as well as playing internationally.

Shooting has already begun on the film at Wimbledon Film Studios and on location in London.

Graham Fowler and James Simpson are producing with Vicki Michelle executive producing.
