Sienna Miller, Golshifteh Farahani and frequent collaborator Roschdy Zem star in Just Like A Woman

Oscar-nominated director Rachid Bouchareb will shoot his next film, the largely English-language Just Like A Woman, beginning in June. Doc & Film International has come on board for international sales.

Sienna Miller, Golshifteh Farahani and frequent collaborator Roschdy Zem star in the story of a young North African woman and a married American woman who travel together from Chicago to Las Vegas to participate in a belly-dance contest.
The film will be shot in the US and produced by Taghit with Cohen Media Group co-producing and distributing in the US. The UK’s The Bureau will also co-produce.

Taghit is the US-based extension of Bouchareb’s 3B Productions in which he is partnered with Jean Brehat and Muriel Merlin and which is currently behind Bruno Dumont’s Hors Satan running in Un Certain Regard at the festival. Bouchareb was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year for Outside The Law and in 2006 his Days Of Glory took an ensemble acting Palme d’Or.

Doc & Film will handle international sales on Woman in addition to other films on its slate which include Fortnight title The End Of Silence by Roland Edzard and UCR title The Minister from Pierre Schoeller which has sold to Switzerland (Xenix) and Benelux (Cinéart) and is under negotiation for other territories.
